Tibooburra is situated on the Silver City Highway in the far northwest of New South Wales. It is 332 kms from Broken Hill with the highway being fully bituminized to Tibooburra. The town is visited by travellers from Broken Hill, Innamincka in South Australia and Birdsville in Queensland. There is an airstrip approximately 6ks from the
township.

Nearby is Sturt National Park, which incorporates Cameron Corner, where the borders of three states meet. South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales. Another attraction is the Dog Fence which stretches for approximately 5,600 Ks from the Darling Downs in New South Wales and ending in South Australia on the high cliffs of the Great
Australian Bight.
